MATCH REPORT. Odili Football League

Wins for Group C & E as OGB led team hit rock bottom in search of crude oil.
- By Chukwuemeka A. Metu

The matchday 2 of Odili super league kicked off as Group E hosted Group A and Group B entertained Group C. The first match started with a minute's silence which was duly observed by the Referee in memory of Kano Pillars player Chinedu Udoji who died yesterday in a car crash.
It was a nightmare start for Group A who won their opening match as Ceejay made a horror mistake to gift Pauleta the ball who pounced on the lose ball to slot into an empty net. An angry Italo and Christian came out firing hitting the woodwork twice in the space of 3 minutes and Rafael was a rock at the back to deal with the balls on target. The game ended in favour of Group E who drew level on point with their opponents as the early mistake made the difference in the day.

The second game was more like a fight. Attacks and counter attacks and  tackles were flying in. The game saw more red cards than goals and Onye show was the first on show as he retaliated in an unsportsmanlike behaviour to receive a straight red card. Group B despite with a man advantage failed to utilize the opportunity and Chidi came on after 5 minutes to cancel the man advantage. In the 2nd period Chibyke dazzled and the ever effective Franklin took his chance perfectly to score the only goal of the game before picking up a red card for a second bookable offence after a confrontation with Salami who received an early bath too for the same offence.

The win sees Group C go top of the table followed closely by group E and Group A. Group D who rested today will play host to Group A tomorrow while Group C will take on Group E. Group B will take the day off to figure out if the problem is from the village.

RESULTS:

Group E 1-0 Group A

Group B 0-1 Group C

ODILI SUPER LEAGUE. Football at its best.

Group A go top as Group C & D match ended goalless. ⚽

The opening match of Odili super league kicked off as Group A entertained Group B. It was a cagey affair in the first half as both teams are still finding their feet.

Group A introduced Christian in the second period of the game and the talisman wasted no time to announce his arrival with a sumptuous finish to give his team the only goal of the game. OGB, Salami, Aguiyi were left with a red face after the game with a mountain to climb in the upcoming games.

Elsewhere, Group C started the game with 3-men and fought very hard to hold group D to a barren draw in the first half. Peter and Abuchi were left frustrated for failure to convert host of chances as Chidi and Franklin played the games of their life to keep Gabi & Co at bay. Nwa ewu Fiber added a Vital force to his team in the second period to see off the rest of the game 0-0.

On Monday, Group E will entertain Group A while Group B will play host to Group C. Stadio Nkrumah remains the Arena.

RESULTS:

Group A 1-0 Group B

Group C 0-0 Group D

CAF Presidential aspirant's visits Ifeanyi Ubah

... Ubah calls for strong partnership With CAF towards ongoing football development initiatives in Anambra state

By Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah

Today, I received in my Abuja home today, the CAF Presidential aspirant and President of Madagascar Football Association, Mr. Ahmad Ahmad, in furtherance of his wide consultations and the attendant campaign geared towards the forthcoming CAF Presidential election in Addis Ababa on thr 16th of March, 2017.

Amongst other things, the consultation centred on football development in Nigeria especially as it relates to its optimization for youth advancement and other developmental components connected thereto.

I also shared and discussed some of our ideas and initiatives in Anambra State with him as it concerns football-inspired youth development, particularly the Football Made in Anambra (1 Family - 1Footballer project) which is billed to kick off within the first quarter of this year and how CAF under his watch can partner with us. We also exchanged views on our ongoing construction of the Games Village in Ozubulu/Nnewi, Anambra State and its siginificance as an effective capacity building tool.

The extant possibility of using the football sector to effectively reduce the rate of crime in our system was also on the table.

It is my staunch belief that our meeting today will yield fruitful results as I look forward to a great partnership with CAF under Mr. Ahmad Ahmad's leadership.

By Chukwuemeka A. Metu

NPFL and Nigerian Footballer of the year 2016 Chisom Egbuchulam has completed a dream move to the Swedish based club BK Hacken.

The 25 years old was in sensational form for former club Enugu Rangers last season as he scored 16 goals and made 11 assists as the team clinched the title at the end of the season.

The forward signed his first contract in Europe this morning and was later unveiled and handed the jersey number 22.

Chisom took to instagram and his Facebook page  to thank his fans and family as he look to face the new challenge ahead.

Much is expected of the talented and sensational forward and we hope the contract signed today will be the first of many as he takes the step to making it to the top.
